Our Teachers

Miss Kim

Kimberly Walters Coffey, owner/instructor of Arabesque Dance Studio, is from Carterville, Illinois. She is a seasoned performer, choreographer, and director of jazz, tap, ballet and pom. Miss Kim has been dancing for over 30 years and has been teaching dance for 22 years. She has performed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and was a member of the Southern Illinois Dance Team.  She performed with the Springfield Ballet Company in the Nutcracker. As well as The Sugar Plum Fairy, Cinderella, Jack from the Newsies, Mr. Mistoffelees in Cats, The Scarecrow and The Wicked Witch in The Wiz, Miss Hannigan in Annie and Julian Marsh in 42nd Street. She is a certified dance teacher with Dance Educators of America and a member of the St Louis Dance Teachers Association. She is also the assistant dance coach for the Carterville High School Dance Team.

Mr. Will 

Mr. Will is the head Ballet Instructor at Arabesque Dance Studio. He has been at teacher with Arabesque for over 5 years, specializing with pointe students. Will has danced in the Southern Illinois Music Festivals productions of The Nutcracker, Romeo & Juliet, Coppélia, Giselle, Firebird and Petrushka.  He was a featured solo dancer in D4Gs productions of Aida, Chicago, and Legally Blonde.  Will has also danced at the collegiate level, and helped originate the role of Thomas for the Alzheimers Associations production of Adam E. Stones A Life Happening. 

Miss Emily

Miss Emily has been a student at Arabesque since 2003 and has been a teacher for the past three years. Emily specializes in Ballet classes, but also teaches our 3-5 year old ballet and tap combo classes, competition technique classes, and is a lyrical team coach and head of our team production number.

Miss Gabby

Miss Gabby has been dancing for over 15 years. She competed for 9 years at Stars R Us Dance Studio in Mascoutah, IL. Her favorite styles of dance are lyrical and contemporary. But her favorite thing to teach is dance strength and flexibility. She is currently attending SIUC for Fashion Design. She teaches competition team classes and technique.

Miss Maddie

Hi! I am Maddie Wiemers. I’m 19 years old, and I am currently attending SIU Carbondale. I am majoring Human Nutrition and Dietetics. I have been dancing for over 10 years, and teaching for 4 years! I was on the Saluki Shakers, however after my first year I made a decision to pursue one of my favorite things to do: teach dance. My favorite styles of dance are jazz, hip hop, and musical theater. I am... so excited for this dance year, and can not wait to meet everybody!"

Miss Maddie will be teaching hip hop, acro class and private lessons to work on specific skills, as well as solo lessons
